Genesis, the book of beginnings is divided into two sections:
- Chapters 1-11 Primeval History
- Chapters 12-50 Patriarchal History
This class will do a verse-by-verse study of chapters 1-11 of Genesis. You will see how examining key passages in the original languages will help us understand much more clearly the first three great events of world history:
- The Creation
- The Fall
- The Flood
What is the practical value of a study like this in a world of economic and social tension? Why should busy Christians spend valuable time studying ancient history? We will see that the biblical account of Creation is at odds with the secular worldview of the origin of life and of the universe. In Genesis we encounter the “law of first use,” which provides the framework for how to interpret the rest of Scripture. We will study the first marriage, the first family, the first covenant, the beginnings of agriculture, ranching, music, industry and commerce, the formation of government and nations, the first poem, the beginning of Satan’s interference in human history, the origins of spiritual and physical death, sin and salvation, and divine judgment.
It is impossible to fully understand God’s plan for the future without understanding the origin of His world. These things (the OT in general) were written for our instruction, not TO the church but FOR the church (Rom 15:4).
Come join us for this exciting journey into our past.

Microscopist Mark Armitage presents his discovery of soft tissue in a triceratops horn, and discusses how the scientific implications support a young-earth creationist world view.
