“If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile” (1 Cor. 15:17). The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the pivotal moment in human history at which our hope is secured. Without it, the Christian worldview is little more than wishful thinking. The stakes are high for having a resurrection that actually happened! Add to this an increasingly anti-Christian culture which attacks such a claim at every turn.
Fortunately, the evidence supports the actual resurrection of Jesus as the best explanation of the facts. We can confidently make a case for the resurrection that not only bolsters our own faith (making the Easter celebration even more profound!) but offers a gracious response to those who want to know what really happened—on evidential grounds.
In this three week class we will cover a historical defense of the resurrection; analyze the rival theories; and explore the facts that support the foundational truth that Jesus did in fact, rise from the dead; and that our faith is founded on more than just a theory, but very strong evidence.
