One of the most common objections we encounter when presenting the Messiahship of Yeshua is the accusation that we misrepresent what the Bible has to say about the Messianic person. In other words, we “tamper with the text.” Anti-missionaries state that the Christian Church and Christian missionaries incorrectly translate Messianic prophecy or edit the text to make it appear that Yeshua is the object of the prophecy when He is not. The following section examines some of the classic Messianic prophecies that are treated in this manner and our response to the allegation that missionaries, and Christians in general, “tamper with the text.”
