The Prophet Daniel - Winter 2010
Pastor Bob Morris
Robert Morris, Director of HaDavar Messianic Ministries and a Jewish believer in Jesus, will take you through the text comprehensively from a Jewish perspective.
If you want to understand the prophetic books of the Old Testament and the Book of Revelation in the New Testament, then you must understand the book of Daniel. The key that unlocks the prophets and the book of Revelation is chronology. The prophetic chronology is supplied by the book of Daniel and then further developed in the book of Revelation. The course of human history is determined by a Divine plan. Rabbi Nosson Scherman in his Overview in the ArtScroll Tenach Series commentary by Mesorah Publications calls Daniel “A Bridge to Eternity.”
Come cross this “bridge” with us to a new and deeper understanding of God’s plan for mankind, an understanding that will resolve the fear and anxiety our present world generates on a daily basis. You will see very clearly that the world is not spinning out of control, but the God of the Universe, your Heavenly Father, is preparing a spectacular, awe-inspiring world for all who trust in Him.
“Among the great prophetic books of Scripture, none provides a more comprehensive and chronological prophetic view of the broad movement of history than the book of Daniel. Of the three prophetic programs revealed in Scripture, outlining the course of the nations, Israel, and the church, Daniel alone reveals the details of God’s plan for both the nations and Israel.
Daniel brings together and interrelates these great themes of prophecy as does no other portion of Scripture. For this reason, the book of Daniel is essential to the structure of prophecy and is the key to the entire Old Testament prophetic revelation.”
Daniel: The Key to Prophetic Revelation
John F. Walvoord
“Daniel is one of the most important pieces of Old Testament prophetic literature and perhaps the most frequently studied of the sixteen Major and Minor prophets. Its narrative portions, with their excitement and suspense, and its prophecies, with their wide scope and fascinating detail, have engaged the attention of readers down through the years. In NT prophecy Daniel is referred to more than any other OT book. Moreover, it contains more fulfilled prophecies than any other book in the Bible.”
