November 2009
Shalom Dear Friends,
ISRAEL 2009
As you read this newsletter 14 students and 2 HaDavar staff are thrilled to be walking in the “Footsteps of the Messiah.” Most of the group have never been to Israel before. This means that their Bible study is suddenly turning from “black and white, analog definition, small screen” to “full color, high definition, wide screen” on an hourly basis as they walk where Jesus walked. Please pray for our study tour. Pray that these two weeks will be a life-changing experience, for safety, and for opportunities to witness to the Israelis we come in contact with.
FINANCES
November is usually one of our most difficult months financially. This year of hardship for our country and supporters should be no exception. For your information only, HaDavar is running 12% behind on our income, and our cash flow has been negative most of the year. We are making up the difference between money flowing in and money flowing out by using our reserves. Please pray that our income will be strong and solid through the end of the year.
SCHOOL OF BIBLICAL AND JEWISH STUDIES
Attendance at our classes has remained solid. In fact, our new classes in Daniel and Messianic Prophecy have gained students during the month of October. The class in the book of Daniel is averaging 117 students per week, Messianic Prophecy is averaging 21 students each week, and the book of Psalms is averaging 13 students per week. Over all, each week 151 students are being discipled and prepared for personal evangelism—to the Jew first and also to the Greek (Romans 1:16). Please continue to pray that our students will be thrilled with all they are learning from God’s Holy Word and that our instructors would be empowered by the Holy Spirit to do an excellent job presenting the material.
UCI BOOK TABLE
We continue to distribute Bibles and Gospel literature from our weekly book table on the UCI campus. Please continue to pray for our ongoing UCI outreach.
